Forum moderators meeting

Meeting of Nov 2nd 2008

Present: BigC, IronMike and Tony Curzon Price

The group decided to:
- no longer allow anonymous posting
- change the terms of the copyright notice in the forums to allow the content of the forums to be used under a creative commons, non-commercial, non-derivative license (TCP to replicate to other forums)
- continue to look at the thread defining the purpose of the oD forums. This thread forms an important defining piece of thinking that the moderation group will refer to when trying to decide what to do with hard cases of complaint, allegations of trolling, requests to ban members etc.

IronMike and BigC reported that goodwill had generally reigned over the forums since the last meeting and that, spam apart, there was no notable anti-social behaviour.

The spam issue on the forums was considered to have been well dealt with by Mollom, and the additional measure taken tonight to stop anonymous posting might make things even better. Spam has not been defeated on comments under articles.

The group will meet again in December.
